This is a demo version for Droid Tesla Pro!
Droid Tesla is a straightforward and robust circuit simulator suitable for students just beginning their journey into electronic circuitry design and construction, enthusiasts and experimenters alike, and even seasoned professionals seeking a convenient tool for performing electronic circuit design computations.
Its interactive and innovative approach sets it apart from premier SPICE tools for PC such as Multisim, LTspice, OrCad, or PSpice (trademarks owned by respective entities).
The DroidTesla simulator tackles basic resistive circuits by applying Kirchoff’s Current Law (KCL) similar to how it would be executed in a circuits classroom setting. The simulator methodically constructs a matrix according to KCL principles and subsequently proceeds to solve for unknown variables using various algebraic methods like Gaussian elimination and sparse matrix techniques.
For nonlinear components like the diode and BJT, the DroidTesla engine seeks an approximate solution by starting with an initial guess and refining the solution through successive calculations rooted in this estimation. This iterative process utilizes the Newton-Raphson algorithm to untangle circuits with nonlinear I/V relationships.
When it comes to reactive elements such as capacitors and inductors, DroidTesla leverages numeric integration techniques to approximate the condition of reactive elements over time. By offering Trapezoidal (and planning to add GEAR method later), these integration methods provide near-identical outcomes for most circuits. Nonetheless, the Gear method is generally considered more stable, while the trapezoidal method is swifter and more accurate.
Presently, DroidTesla can simulate various components including resistors, capacitors, inductors, ideal operational amplifiers, transistors (Bipolar junction NPN PNP), and different MOSFET configurations along with diodes, sources (current and voltage), controlled sources, wave sources, meters, switches, logic gates, flip-flops, displays, ICs like 555 timer and transformers among others.
For oscillator designs involving reactive elements, initializing certain parameters will be necessary as indicated in the examples provided.
